How Chase Ink Helped These Entreprenistas Expand Their Business Amid Ongoing Supply Chain Challenges
The inspiration for a business often originates from an entrepreneur aiming to solve a problem. Houston-based co-founders Maggie Segrich (CFO) and Meredith Wheeler (CCO) saw a need for safe and inclusive workspaces for creative women and genderqueer entrepreneurs in their city and knew they needed to bring their vision to life.
Sesh Coworking offers a variety of workspaces that nurtures personal and professional development, supports all working habits and fosters community growth through collaboration, learning and advocacy. Since founding Sesh as a mobile coworking group in April 2017, Maggie and Meredith have overcome challenges ranging from finding funding to which marketing solutions to use. Their business quickly gained momentum, leading to the first permanent location opening in February 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic forced Sesh to briefly close its doors, but membership grew an incredible 60% during that time with the help of digital memberships.
In order to support its new members, Sesh Coworking expanded its footprint, opening a second location. When construction began, however, the lingering effects of the pandemic again threatened their rapid growth.
“We were finalizing construction on our first floor, and due to supply chain and inflation, certain products, like cabinets from Ikea, had tripled in price,” Maggie said. “Our purchases were significantly more expensive than we had budgeted for in November 2021.”
Maggie and Meredith knew that it was only a matter of time until prices increased once again, so they were determined to figure out a solution – and fast.
Their building contractor had recommended the Chase Ink Business Unlimited credit card because of its benefits like the extended warranty protection and constantly raved about how easy the sign-up process was. The duo decided to sign up for the card in June of 2022 and have since relied on it as one of their main financial support tools.
In addition to using their business line of credit for construction needs, Sesh Coworking co-founders have also used their card to invest in necessary building and safety upgrades like expanding their security and locking system, as well as providing cleaning and sanitary supplies for their customers.
“Not only did our card allow us to invest in a security system and provide safety and peace of mind to our members, but we were able to use the rewards to provide them with other valuable office amenities like cleaning products,” said Maggie. “This kind of flexibility makes running a business less stressful so founders can focus on what is important — their mission and future goals.”
