Describe your business in a few words:

Hi, I’m Mallory – founder of mindful made co. I’m passionate about helping bring more ease to mamas entering the 4th trimester. After giving birth in the middle of a pandemic, and experiencing the systemic lack of support for new moms, I felt drawn to make an impact and work towards filling the gap. Moms need more support, and our curated postpartum & self-care boxes are designed to help mamas feel empowered and a little like herself again. Each box has a selection of nourishing, holistic, non-toxic products for healing and self-care, so moms can find ease no matter what chapter they’re in. In addition, I am a designer & marketing consultant specializing in branding for small businesses. I love helping small businesses and startups make their brand come to life.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

Graphic design, marketing, branding, health & wellness

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Yes. I co-owned a small but successful creative design studio in the past and I’ve always been more excited by the opportunity to work for myself

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out, and did it go as planned?

Well, I just launched in September so it was very recent! marketing was a lot harder than I expected as someone with a marketing background. My strategy involved building an email list, social media outreach and growth, and minimal ads since I had a small budget. None of it really went how I expected, but I also did this while being a full-time SAHM with a 1-year-old, so had very few hours/day to work.

What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

Birthing the most beautiful baby.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

I believe in work/life harmony. balance means how you manage the time dedicated to working and the time you spend on other activities. to me this feels like the other activities get put second like life is less important and it feels harder and more overwhelming. It’s a very “live for the weekend mentality”. Work-life harmony involves incorporating work into the rest of life in a way that promotes happiness both at home and in work.

Mindfully made co is all about advocating for daily self-care, and helping moms see that this isn’t something that’s overwhelming or complicated. if it’s overwhelming then it’s not self-care. we have to find ways to care for our mental & physical health, and that includes finding harmony. so deep breathing when you feel anxious or stressed, creating a solid morning routine, and daily movement/exercise are my top 3 ways to incorporate self-care into my daily life.

What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

Launching mindful made co was a big step! I’m close to 1000 followers on Instagram, so that’s exciting! and I’m hosting a self-care new year challenge which has been really fulfilling so far.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

My goal is to keep growing and build a hugely profitable business and in a few years, I aim to have a brick and mortar apothecary to house my box company, with additional products and my own line of clean self-care products.

What excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?

I love meeting and supporting other mom and women entrepreneurs. I am always looking for new networking opportunities and as a full-time stay at home mom in this day and age, there aren’t a whole lot of opportunities to meet new people.
